Liz Pearce has a cabin in Wautoma, Wisconsi, where she enjoys drinks like this one. “This is the kind of thing I want to drink sitting in front of a fire up there, after snowshoeing,” she says. The rich, bitter, slightly spiced cocktail sees a base of Scotch mixed with amaro and vermouth, garnished with wintry cinnamon and a Manhattan-inspired cherry.
“From about December 10th to February 10th, I want to drink something like a Manhattan. The rest of the year, it’s Margaritas.”
